Skin Prep for Holiday Glam

The Holidays provide opportunities to enjoy and create cozy memories with friends and loved ones, delicious food and warm smiles fill the air, and we end up with photographs that capture golden moments in time. While you may get busy during this time, it’s also good practice not to skip on your skin care, since time might be limited, it’s a good idea to prep your skin for the coming holidays so that you’ll be able to keep that youthful look and be proud of that glow when you look back on those photographs.

Be the best that you can be even during the holidays with these skin care tips.
Keep on Moisturizing
Even though you might be traveling right now or are currently on a get-away in the Bahamas, that doesn’t mean you should stop your skin care routine, make sure to keep it moisturized. You might be wearing make-up often during dinners with distant relatives but don’t forget to apply some moisturizers first before putting on your primer and make-up.

Depuff those eyes
Those holiday parties and dinners might wrap up late, it can’t be helped, family members are excited with one another or friends might be unwinding after a tiring work week. Chances are, you might wake up with puffy eyes for staying up way too late. Fortunately, there’s a way to help those eyes return to a healthy look. You can use an eye gel that contains special ingredients like Hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and Matrixyl 3000 to help reduce puffiness around your eyes, those ingredients also help with fine lines and dark circles so it’s an added benefit.

Drink a lot of Water
Now that you have depuffed your eyes, you might be feeling dehydrated especially if there’s been a lot of alcohol served during the holiday party last night. If you wake up dehydrated, it doesn’t just affect your body, but also your skin as well. You can try to minimize alcohol intake and try to drink water often. It would also be a good idea to use skin care products that rehydrate your skin.

Exfoliate often
Since we may be wearing more make-up than usual because we’re attending more parties and those may even last the whole night, chances are you might be wearing a foundation that lasts long to keep that beautiful holiday look. It’s best to compliment during this time with exfoliating which will not only help keep those foundations longer but also remove any impurities or dead skin cells which may lead to your skin breaking out.

Sunscreen for that Holiday Sun
Let’s not forget that there are daytime parties too, it’s a good idea to keep your sunscreen handy to protect your skin from the outdoor sun. It will be best to go for sunscreens made of natural ingredients that also keep your skin moisturized. This way, you will be ready even if that vacation involves the Sun, the sea, and the sand.

Avoid the Hot showers
We know, this is hard to avoid, after a long day of partying or traveling, even if you came from the beach, it’s always good to reward yourself with a long hot bath. However, keep in mind that these dry out your skin and it won’t be good for it. If you really must, try to keep it short and it would be a good idea to use some baby oil or body oil to soothe and moisturize the skin.

Preparation is the key to enjoying the holidays while looking your best, getting that holiday glow up doesn’t mean you have to be stressed about your skin, preparation is the key and we hope this guide helped you out. Happy Holidays!
