The Ultimate Guide On How to Transition Your Skin Care Routine from Summer to Fall

Summer is a time we all love to spend the day outside with our loved ones and doing our favorite leisure activities. For some this can be a day at the beach or for others it can be going for a picnic. Whichever the case, it is always important to take care of our skin because of the suns’ damaging ultraviolet rays. Much has been said about taking care of our skin under the sun but little has been said about transiting to fall.  Just like we all change the way we dress from summer to fall, it is equally important to change our skincare routine because the skin’s metabolism changes with the seasons.  Below are some of the things that can help you change your skin-care routine from summer to fall.

Using Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid is a substance that is naturally produced by our bodies in small quantities and it can sometimes be referred to as hyaluronan. It appears a clear and gooey substance and is largely found on the skin, eyes, and connecting tissues. Hyaluronic Acid can either come as a supplement, injection, topical serum, and eye drop and it can be bought over the counter. Its main function is to lock in water and keep your body tissues well lubricated because the transition from summer to fall is usually accompanied by a drop in humidity levels. Using hyaluronan products can have healthier and more supple skin.  It can do this by protecting and enhancing your skin’s moisture barrier, gets rid of those fine lines on your face, and if combined with vitamin E, gives you that revitalized glowing skin.

Using Vitamin-A-derived Ingredient

Vitamin-A-derived Ingredient is usually any product that contains retinoids in its ingredient list. Your skin is a series of living cells and the dermis and epidermis of the skin contain protein receptors that can process the metabolization of vitamin A.Vitamin-A-derived Ingredient is helpful to the skin because it mitigates some of the changes caused by ultraviolet rays that damage the dermal collagen in the skin tissue. Some of the other advantages of retinoids product is helping to diminish hyperpigmentation, reduces wrinkles on your face, and increases the smoothness and elasticity of your skin. These are some of the reasons why it is important to incorporate them into your skin-care routine when transitioning from summer to fall.

Use a thicker moisturizer

During summer it is important to use light moisturizing creams to prevent your pores from clogging up. In summer there is usually an increase in humidity levels and your skin does not need to retain a lot of water. However, the case is not the same in the fall because there is a drop in humidity levels. That is why you need to use a thicker moisturizer to retain as much water to help regenerate your skin cells.

It does not need to be a hard task when you are transitioning from summer to fall. Make a conscious decision to stick to a healthy diet and use safe cosmetic products and you are on your way to slowing down the aging process. Add in a little exercise and you are guaranteed to feel younger, healthier, and confident with each passing day.
