Ingredients that enhance the delicate skin of your face

Make sure that your facial care routine includes a specific routine to treat the periocular area that contains ingredients such as:

  • Hyaluronic acid: It is a molecule capable of retaining 1000 times its weight in water.
  • Vitamin E: prevents free radicals from oxidising, is very effective in anti-wrinkle therapies and is also very soothing in case of sensitivity.
  • Bisabolol: the active principle of the essential oil of the chamomile flower, with soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Horse Chestnut: drains and decongests, filters the penetration of sensitising agents and temperature variation, as well as water content.
  • Centella Asiatica: Stimulates cell regeneration, and regulates the degradation of support fibres.
  • Linolenic acid, linoleic acid and arachidonic acid, ceramides: components of cutaneous sebum, have a regenerating action by causing emollience to the stratum corneum and increasing the metabolic processes of the skin.
  • Growth Factors: substances that are capable of activating skin cells naturally and, in this way, accelerate the process of renewal and repair of its tissues.
  • Cellular Peptides: regenerate the skin in depth.
  • Vitamin C: It has a double-action, it neutralises free radicals and participates in the regeneration of Vitamin E.
  • AHA’S: stimulate cell regeneration.
  • Retinol: has an antioxidant and also depigmenting action.
  • It is important to bear in mind that cosmetics reach as far as it goes, that is, the epidermis (stratum corneum), although there are beginning to be studied in which it has been seen that some active ingredients have managed to reach the first layer of the dermis.

In more complex cases we must take into account that the best results for this delicate area are obtained with the combination of medicine and aesthetic treatments as maintenance; for instance:

Botulinum toxin injections (Botox)

It is a minimally invasive treatment that helps eliminate crow’s feet and frown lines. Botox acts as a muscle contraction blocker, which temporarily prevents the appearance of new wrinkles. The treatment is carried out using microinjections and the effects are maintained for approximately 9 months.

Collagen and hyaluronic acid injections

The two substances act as fillers. They are applied directly to the furrows of the skin so that the wrinkles are smoothed or disappear. The effect lasts about 6 months.

Blepharoplasty and laser

These types of surgical procedures are more invasive but usually give very good results. Of course, they require the use of anaesthesia. Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery consists of completely stretching the wrinkled areas of the skin and is applied under total anaesthesia. It is very effective in removing eye bags. The laser burns the superficial layers of the skin, thus allowing it to regenerate and become wrinkle-free.
