Why do crow’s feet form?

The eyes are one of the most attractive areas of the face, but it is also the most fragile area. On the one hand,  it lacks sebaceous glands and microcirculation is poorly developed, which makes skin more vulnerable to certain aesthetic problems such as expression lines, better known colloquially as  ” crow’s feet” and wrinkles, loss of firmness, dryness, puffiness, dark circles and bags are the main problems that make this area look more damaged before any other part of the face.

On the other hand, it is an area subjected to continuous stress due to the blinking and movement that are found there; it is not surprising that the eye contour ages before other areas.

Why do crow’s feet form?

These small expression lines appear due to the underlying muscle, which is called the orbicularis oculi, which forms like an ellipse around the eye. This muscle allows us to close our eyelids or squint in bright light.

However, the successive contractions and relaxations of the muscles are not the only ones responsible for the formation of the crow’s feet. Environmental factors such as the sun or tobacco enhance its appearance, added to this is that it is the poorest area in collagen and elastin fibres.

How do get rid of the dreaded crow’s feet?

The ideal is its prevention since this will delay having to go for a more invasive treatment. Let’s see some natural alternatives that can help us hide, but always keep in mind that it is not recommended to treat in this way, since they are not dermatologically tested to cover specific needs of these areas of the eyes, but that at some point it helps us to decongest or calm.

  • Cucumber: Cucumber hydrates and calms, reducing wrinkles around and under the eyes.
  • Papaya: thanks to vitamin C, which fights free radicals, and papain, which exerts an exfoliating action on wrinkles around the eyes.
  • Castor oil: Castor oil has moisturising and emollient properties capable of reducing wrinkles around the eyes.
  • Rosehip: Rosehip oil helps prevent and fight wrinkles and is particularly suitable for crow’s feet.
  • Chamomile – Chamomile can be an excellent remedy for removing wrinkles around the eyes in emergencies.
  • Aloe Vera: Contains vitamins and minerals that contribute to skin hydration.
  • Avocado strengthens the tissues and softens expression lines.
  • Egg whites: help keep the skin firm and smooth.
  • Milk – Contains natural acids that stimulate collagen production and help smooth.

What do we do when there are deeper wrinkles that we have managed to improve or hide, but not remove completely and it causes us a certain complex?

We have to achieve deep rehydration of the skin while working on the firmness and repositioning of the cheekbones. In addition, we also have to reduce deep wrinkles and expression lines.
